This rare and important Maison Jansen Art Moderne Carpet is being offered for the first time in nearly 2 decades. Last sold by the esteemed Beauvais carpets, the research points to the design being attributed to Stephane Boudin and weaving by Maison Hamot in Abusson, France. Jansen's client roster included the Lady Mendl, Jackie Kennedy at the White House, Coco Channel an 3 residences for the Duke and Duchess of Windsor. Though there is no documented link such as an invoice to the Windsors, the feather plumes cannot be ignored. It likely would have been in bad taste to use these incredibly important symbols for any other clients.
