Circa 1825, possibly Charleston, South Carolina. The chest having a handsome mahogany case with reeded edge at the top and front edge of the case with two over three drawer configuration resting atop boldly turned feet at front and interestingly shared back legs which lead into the bottom of the back case. Mahogany with white pine secondary.
Allegedly purchased from the family collection of George Walton Williams of Charleston, South Carolina, the builder and original owner of the Calhoun Mansion at 16 Meeting Street.
